Ohio is a state in North central USA,
nickname Buckeye State. It has an area of
107,100sq km (41,341sq miles). Its capital is
Columbus. Its towns include Cleveland,
Cincinnati, Dayton, Akron, Toledo,
Youngstown, and Canton. Industries include
coal, cereals, livestock, dairy foods,
machinery, chemicals, steel, motor vehicles,
automotive and aircraft parts, rubber
products, office equipment, refined
petroleum.
Ohio is a river in the USA, 1,580km
(980miles) long. It is formed by the union of
the Allegheny and Monongahela at Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, and flows South West until it
joins the river Mississippi at Cairo,
Illinois. The Ohio carries twice the freight
tonnage of the Panama Canal-bulk cargos such
as iron ore, oil, chemicals, metals, salt,
sand, gravel, and, especially, coal from West
Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, and East Ohio
fields.
